Whats up with these credit batches? What are they and how will they affect us the simple minded users? Does this mean i send less sms? Anyone know anything feel free to hit the reply button Annex hi ok..this in our view is a positive development to all users in the sense that sms credits are allocated to all users per given time interval e.g 8am-12noon. What it means is that users can continue to send sms during this four hours until allocated credits are finished and then get another allocation in the next interval e.g 12noon-1600hrs. this ensures that even on a given day if a user comes at 4pm, they will still have a greater chance of finding some credits still available to send sms as compared to free for all through out the day which might result in all credits for the day being consumed in the first 4 hours of the day. So really, in our view, this is an enhancement of the daily credit limit just to spread it evenly so that as many ZimTxT users as possible can get to send sms regardless of the time they decide to visit the site. and by the way no need to buy airtime...service still free

Thanks for enlightening us there. Now the problem with people like me we are ever sending sms. What is this eergh, limit per batch per person? And how is it enforced? You lock messages from a specific computer by IP address or wat?? How will it affect people in a company scenario where we share IP addresses (of the proxy server)??

Annex no Annex, it's not targeting individuals but its a batch that is used by everyone. instead of saying 5000 credits for the day, we are saying 1500, for instance, per 4 hrs. So we will all be consuming the 1500 credits for the 4hrs until they are finished and then we wait for another 4hr interval. so we won't even get to know what an individual is doing or sending....hope that answers your questions.

I get it and it really is bad. So if too many people log into the service then by 9:am there wont be any sms to send because all of us together would have exceeded our limit? I think i'm beginning to get how this stuff works after all. Tiri patight all the same. So this means getting others onto the service will work against us?

Zirox, the only reason why this is a free service its bcoz these guys get to send messages for free. And they only get to send messages for free provided they dont exceed a certain limit. At the moment that is not a problem bcoz of the small number of users using the service. Now when this number grows, it means pressure on the limit meaning some other users might fail to send their sms bcoz the limit is exceeded before they have even composed wat to type...

well i get you but i think once read somewhere on their blog and they said they would increase the limit according to the number of users. logically if the number grows they will also increase the credit limit. so your fears should be addressed if they do as they said they would

Lets hope they do that. I wouldn't want to compete for sms credits with others.

Is it possible to assign credit limits or sms limits to particular IP addresses in ur sms batching system, this way there is a fair chance for everyone to send equal amount of smses during the allocated periods. I say this because there seems to be a flood of users at the beginning of every time slot and at the end of the day some people seem to 'wipe out' all the smses and some don't get a single chance to send an sms. Guys wat do u think?

Guys wat do u think? it's a good idea the only draw-back is that 10 or 20 people from a company may share the same IP address. this means 20 people will share still a limited and insignificant number of smses. we hope the version 2 of ZimTxT will allow user accounts so that spefic users can be allocated daily credit limits.

With the way that the system works its going to be difficult to set credit limits for individuals. So to be on the safe side dont postpone to send your sms. When you think of something to send send it immediately, coz if you wait for a few minutes unodzwa kuti the limit has been reached. I once said this:: we all shall be fighting to send sms before the batch limit runs out.
